Won tickets to a screening of Anvil! The Story of Anvil yesterday. Go. See. It. You need not know anything about Anvil or metal bands in general. Clearly This is Spinal Tap was making fun of bands like, and perhaps primarily, Anvil, and the similaritires between the two movies are astonishing - so much so that Spinal Tap seems weaker in comparison. The reality is often way funnier than the parody. But there’s a little bit of The Wrestler and fellow indie-doc King of Kong thrown in as well. Great, great movie.
