Andy Rooney will make his last regular appearance on 60 Minutes this coming Sunday. I take issue with thedailywhat’s suggestion that his retirement was spurred by “criticism in recent years for opinions many felt were increasingly outmoded,” and not the fact that he’s, you know, 92. I happen to remember a mid-nineties segment in which he complained about the free prize that came with his bag of dog food. Rooney really doesn’t get enough credit as a humorist.
