Camera Obscura is one of the great live bands, and last night at the Music Box at the Fonda was no exception.
For anyone who’s been turned off by the insincerity of indie music, I point to this band as one of the authentic sources of the aesthetic. There’s nothing ironic about the Glasgow band’s thrift store clothing or depressive demeanor (As this interview with ABC demonstrates.) Their albums are great and they are amazingly tight live. (Here’s a video from when I saw them in Boston.) Oh, and they are on KCRW as we speak.
