The importance of Polaris’s music in The Adventures of Pete and Pete cannot be understated. Its sort of haunting nostalgia so perfectly complimented the tone of the show. The man behind the music, Mark Mulcahy, has fallen upon some hard times, so some indie artists are making a tribute album and giving him the profits. Unfortunately, only one band is covering his Polaris tunes, and that’s The National, who did a great job covering “Ashamed of the Story I Told.”
