
This has gone too far.
You will have a choice to make next time you are in an airport. Let the government see you naked while exposing you to harmful radiation - the same kind from which your dentist shields you with a lead vest, or let the government reach into your crotch and feel your genitals.
You can not complain, you cannot object, you can not question the wisdom of letting a government agent touch a nun inappropriately. Because those are signs you are not a true American.
I am more afraid of air travel than anyone I know. I’ve been haunted by nightmares of crashes as long as I can remember. I cannot watch movies about plane crashes. My palms sweat when I arrive at the airport, during takeoffs and during landings. No one takes greater comfort than me in air travel being as safe as possible. But being allowed to freely move about the United States is the right of every American, as is the Constitutional right to privacy.
Whatever this is, this is not free. This is not private.
All I can think of is that Ben Franklin quote: “Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.”
